Abstract

PURPOSE: To largely improve the heating efficiency of a heat equipment having a plurality of burners in the longitudinal direction of a furnace by properly changing the excess air ratio in each region on the basis of a specified in-furnace temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The continuous heating furnace for steel stock S has a soaking 1, a heating zone 2 and a preheating zone 3, which have respective burners 4 such as axial flow burners. Each burner 4 samples the combustion exhaust gas from each zone and a flue 5 to measure the O2 concentration and feeds back the measured value in order to control the excess air ratio. In this case, when the extraction temperature of the steel stock is around 1,200°C, the temperature in the furnace are 1,300°C in the soaking zone, 1,100W1,300°C in the heating zone and 1,000°C in the preheating zone. In such a case, each burner 4 is so controlled that the excess air ratio m in the region having an in-furnace temperature of more than 1,000°C is 2m0-1.0≤m<1.0, while that in the region having an in-furnace temperature of less than 1,000°C is m≥1.0.
