Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the unnecessary spectral peaks resulting from a solvent or the like in the two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance measurement, by irradiating a sample with a 180 deg. pulse a given period of time before each irradiation of a pulse train of 90 deg. pulse-tau-180 deg. pulse. CONSTITUTION:When the two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance measurement by the Hahn echo method is performed on a system having such homocoupling as <1>H, a pulse train P1 of 90 deg. pulse-tau-180 deg. pulse is supplied to a probe 4 from a generator 1 through a gate 3 and applied to a sample. Then, tau after the irradiation, echo signals are started to be stored in a computer 7 through a processing circuit 5 and an A/D converter 6. Said measurement is repeated a plurality of times with tau varied to perform a two-dimensional Fourier transform. In this case, in advance of the pulse train P1, the sample is irradiated with a 180 deg. pulse P2, and the interval between the 180 deg. pulse P2 and the pulse train P1 is fixed to the relaxation time T1 of the solvent which is desired to eliminate. Thereby, when the 90 deg. pulse is applied, the magnetization of the solvent is not excited at all. Accordingly, the echo signals include no signals resulting from the solvent.
