Abstract

PURPOSE: To form high-quality double-layer glass having a transparent film uniformly stretched between glass plates without distortion by supporting the film with elastic stretching members to absorb the expansion and contraction of the film by means of the restoring force of the members.
CONSTITUTION: Elastic stretching members each made of soft elastic body are used. Transparent film, preferably biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate film 40 is supported by putting each edge between film support frame 61 and elastic stretching member 51. After holding film 40 between two transparent plates such as glass plates 11, 12 arranged with spacers 31 in-between at the stretched state, the peripheral parts are joined together with sealing member 21 such as silicone sealant 21 to form double-layer glass. Member 51 may be formed with a spring or the like.
