Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement of paper stains such as zebra images and the like produced through peeling of magnetic toner surface layer for facsimiles by defining the particle sizes of magnetic cores and the characteristics of the fine particles of carbon black which fix on magnetic core surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: After resin, magnetic material fine particles and carbon black are melted and kneaded, the mixture is ground and classified, whereby the magnetic cores whose particle sizes distribute in the range of roughly 0.5 to 100μ and whose mean particle sizes are in the range of 10 to 70μ are obtainable. Next, these magnetic cores and the carbon black fine pparticles having mean particle sizes of 250 Å or under and oil absorption rates of 70 ml/100 g or over are mixed and the mixture is heat treated, whereby the magnetic toner wherein the carbon black fine particles have been fixed on the surfaces of the magnetic cores is obtained.
