PURPOSE:To stabilize 1,1,1-trichloroethane useful as a solvent for metal processing use or fiber treatment use, etc., by adding a specific imidoether as a stabilizer to prevent the corrosion of metal. CONSTITUTION:1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized by the addition of imidoether of formula (R, R' and R'' are H, aliphatic hydrocarbon, aromatic hydrocarbon, etc.). Concentration of the additive is between 0.1 ppm and about 8%, preferably 10 ppm-5%. The additive may be used singly, or as a mixture of various imidoethers, a free imidoether, an imidoether bonded to an acid radical, their mixture, etc.
