ブロツク冷却風通路と連通する風穴を設けたこと

ブロツク3に形成される冷却風通路4は該シリン
ダを搭載する車体の進行方向に向つてシリンダブ
ロツクを前後に貫通するようにそのカムチエン室
5の側面に沿つて上下に複数個設けられるが、そ
の上部通路4にはシリンダヘツドとの合せ面に向
つて前記風穴7と整合する風穴8を開口し、これ
ら風穴7,8を介して前記通路2,4は連通させ
た。図中9はカム軸、10はチエン、11は燃焼

エン室側からも導出することができて、ヘツドの
冷却効果を一層高めることができると共にシリン
ダの放熱性があまりよくないカムチエン室5側を
有効に冷却することができ特に停車時においては
シリンダブロツク冷却風通路4にてシリンダを冷
却して暖められた空気がスムーズにシリンダヘツ
ド1に抜けるため停車時のエンジンの冷却性を良
好にすることができ、かくて冷却エンジンに設け
られる冷却フインを小型化してエンジンの小型軽
