Description
ここで、G値とは、以下の式で定義される(特開2017-206094号参照)。
G=Log(Eβ-Eβ+0.1°)
ただし、Eβとは角度位置βにおける光度値である。
G値は、従来技術の場合では、例えば5.7程度(画素電極間20μmの場合)であったが、本実施形態ではこのG値をより小さくすることができる。G値は、1以下であることが好ましい。
液晶層18による容量成分CLCは、液晶材料の誘電率(短軸方向)をεLC、領域面積をS、液晶層18の層厚をdLCとすると以下のように表せる。同様に、絶縁層17による容量成分Ctopは、絶縁層17の誘電率をεtop、領域面積をS、絶縁層17の層厚をdtopとすると以下のように表せる。
CLC=εLC×S/dLC
Ctop=εtop×S/dtop
Q=CLC×VLC
Q=Ctop×Vtop
CLC=8.0×S/5=1.6×S
Ctop=3.44×S/1=3.44×S
これより、
VLC:Vtop=1/CLC:1/Ctop=1/1.6:1/3.44
となり、
VLC:Vtop=1.96:1
となる。
Claims (5)
- 対向配置される第1基板及び第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の間に配置される液晶層と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板の間であって前記液晶層中に配置される複数の柱状体と、
を含み、
前記第1基板は、一面側に設けられた対向電極を有しており、
前記第2基板は、一面側に設けられた複数の配線部、当該複数の配線部の上側に設けられた絶縁層及び当該絶縁層の上側に設けられた複数の画素電極を有しており、
前記複数の画素電極は、平面視において、少なくとも第1方向に沿って配列されており、第1画素電極、当該第1画素電極と前記第1方向に隣り合う第2画素電極及び当該第2画素電極と前記第1方向に隣り合う第3画素電極を有しており、
前記複数の配線部は、前記複数の画素電極の下層側に配置されており、前記絶縁層を介して前記第1画素電極と接続される第1配線部、前記絶縁層を介して前記第2画素電極と接続される第2配線部及び前記絶縁層を介して前記第3画素電極と接続される第3配線部を有しており、
前記第3配線部は、平面視において、前記第1画素電極と重なる第1領域、前記第2画素電極と重なる第2領域及び前記第1画素電極と前記第2画素電極の間に配置されて前記第1領域と前記第2領域とを接続する接続領域を有しており、
前記複数の柱状体は、少なくとも、前記接続領域と平面視において重なる位置に設けられている、
液晶素子。 - 前記第3配線部は、平面視において、前記第2画素電極と前記第3画素電極との間に配置される第3領域を有する、
請求項1に記載の液晶素子。 - 前記第3配線部の前記第3領域は、前記第3画素電極の幅に対して50%以上の幅を有する、
請求項2に記載の液晶素子。 - 各々が、前記複数の画素電極のうち前記第1方向と交差する第2方向に隣り合う2つの前記画素電極同士の相互間の隙間と平面視において重なるように配置される複数の画素間電極を更に含み、
前記複数の画素間電極の各々は、前記第1配線部、前記第2配線部又は前記第3配線部の何れかと接続されている、
請求項1~3の何れかに記載の液晶素子。 - 配光パターンを可変に設定可能な照明装置であって、
光源と、
前記光源からの光を用いて前記配光パターンに対応する画像を形成する液晶素子と、
前記液晶素子によって形成された前記画像を投影する光学系と、
を含み、
前記液晶素子として請求項1~4の何れかに記載の液晶素子を用いる、
照明装置。
