Description
・ベース樹脂:エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(東ソー社製のウルトラセン722 ) 60質量部
・粘着性付与剤:水添石油樹脂(出光興産株式会社製のアイマーブ P−100) 25質量部
・ワックス:フィッシャートロプシュワックス(Shell社製のGTL Sarawax SX100)
15質量部
溶融温度は160℃、で粘度は8125mPa・s、軟化点は109℃であった。
(ホットメルト接着剤1の製造方法)
容量4Lのステンレス鋼(SUS)製の攪拌混錬機中に、前記ホットメルト接着剤1の材料を2kg投入し、165℃以上で攪拌、溶融させた。
酢酸および酢酸ビニルの量の測定は、ガスクロマトグラフ質量分析計(GC アジレント社製7890B GCシステム、MS アジレント社製5977Bシリーズ GC/MSDシステム、DHS ゲステル社製DHSシステム)を用い、ダイナミックヘッドスペース法に基づいて行った。試料の加熱温度は160℃、加熱時間は60分間とし、ガスクロには内径0.25mm、ジメチルポリシロキサンコーティング(コーティング厚1.00μm)、長さ60mのキャピラリーカラムを使用した。カラムの昇温プログラムは40〜300℃まで20℃/分で加熱し、その後20分間保持した。この操作によって、質量分析器で検出した酢酸および酢酸ビニルを検量線から定量した。
140mLのガラス瓶にホットメルト接着剤を50g入れた。そのサンプルを160℃雰囲気下で30分加温し、室温10分静置したのち、1〜2cmの距離でにおいを嗅いだ。
○:残存酢酸量7〜17ppb 低臭効果がある
△:残存酢酸量18〜24ppb 若干の低臭効果があるが、明らかな臭気が残っている
×:残存酢酸量25ppb以上 明らかに臭気を感じる
なお、上記◎の根拠は公益社団法人におい・かおり環境協会が公開の嗅覚閾値に準拠している。
表1〜4の結果から明らかなように、本発明の製法に基づいて得られたEVAホットメルト接着剤(実施例1〜24)では、酢酸の量がいずれも17ppb以下となっており、臭気も低減した。さらに、液体の導入量が好ましい範囲となっている、実施例5、10、15等ではより高い効果が得られていることもわかる。また、実施例20−21、23−24の結果から、排気速度を高め、液体量も上げることでさらに効果が高まることもわかった。
(ホットメルト接着剤2:EVA系ホットメルト2)
・ベース樹脂:エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体(USI社製のEVATHENE UE653−04)60質量部
・粘着性付与剤:水添石油樹脂(出光興産株式会社製のアイマーブ P−100)25質量部
・ワックス:フィッシャートロプシュワックス(Shell社製のGTL Sarawax SX100)15質量部
ホットメルト接着剤2の溶融温度は160℃、粘度は8125mPa・s、軟化点は109℃であった。
表5の結果から明らかなように、本発明の製法に基づいて得られたEVA系のホットメルト接着剤2(実施例25〜26)では、酢酸だけでなく酢酸ビニルの量も低減されており(89pptおよび109ppt)、臭気も低減したことが確認できた。これに対し、液体を導入させず、従来の製法に基づいて得られた比較例5のホットメルト接着剤2では、残存酢酸ビニル量が406pptとなっていた。
ホットメルト接着剤の材料として、以下のホットメルト接着剤3および4(いずれもEVA系)を使用し、かつ、表6および7に示す液体や各種条件を使用した以外は、試験例1と同様にして、実施例27および比較例6のホットメルト接着剤3、並びに実施例28および比較例7のホットメルト接着剤4を製造し、試験例1と同じ評価試験を行った。結果を表6および7に示す。
・ベース樹脂:エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体(三井・ダウポリケミカル株式会社製のエバフレックス EV220)50質量部
・粘着性付与剤:脂環族系石油樹脂水素化物(日本ゼオン株式会社製のQuintone A100)30質量部
・ワックス:フィッシャートロプシュワックス(Shell社製のGTL Sarawax SX100)20質量部
・酸化防止剤:ヒンダードフェノール系酸化防止剤(BASFジャパン株式会社製のIrganox 1010)1質量部
溶融温度は160℃、で粘度は9800mPa・s、軟化点は102℃であった。
・ベース樹脂:エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体(LG Chem社製のEA28150)45質量部
・粘着性付与剤:天然ロジン系樹脂(アリゾナケミカル社製のシルバレスRE−100L)45質量部
・ワックス:パラフィンワックス(日本精鑞株式会社製のPW−130)10質量部
溶融温度は160℃、で粘度は6050mPa・s、軟化点は102℃であった。
表6〜7の結果から明らかなように、本発明の製法に基づいて得られたEVA系のホットメルト接着剤3や4においても(実施例27〜28)、それぞれ同じ材料を用いて従来の製法で得られた比較例6〜7と比べて、酢酸だけでなく酢酸ビニルの量も低減されており、臭気も低減したことが確認できた。
Claims (7)
- エチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法であって、
液状のホットメルト接着剤用材料を混練する間若しくは混練した後に、加熱混練機に水またはアルコールのうち少なくともいずれかからなる液体を前記ホットメルト接着剤用材料100質量部に対して0.05質量部以上の量で導入し、前記ホットメルト接着剤用材料と前記液体が接するように加熱撹拌または分散を行いながら、脱気を行うことを含む、エチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。 - 前記加熱混練機容積に対し0.25倍容積以上の分速排気速度で脱気を行う、請求項1に記載のエチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。
- 前記液体の導入量が0.35質量部以上である、請求項1に記載のエチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。
- 前記脱気におけるゲージ圧が−60kPaより高い真空度である、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のエチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。
- さらに前記加熱混練機から排気した排気ガスを、冷却凝集させ、揮発性有機化合物を含んだ液体を回収することを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のエチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。
- 前記液体の回収率が60%以上である、請求項5に記載のエチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。
- 得られるホットメルト接着剤における残存酢酸または酢酸ビニルが17ppb以下である、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のエチレン酢酸ビニル系ホットメルト接着剤の製造方法。
