Conventionally, as one of the methods for controlling pests, a pest control bait such as a poison bait has been used. Insecticides are ingested by pests and killed by ingesting insecticidal components. Therefore, it is being studied to add a component that enhances attractiveness and eating habits to the poison bait.
For example, in Ogata et al.'S research (Non-Patent Document 1) or Tsuji's research (Non-Patent Document 2), potatoes, onions, okara, rice bran, various fatty acids, etc. are mentioned as components highly attracting to cockroach and the like. , These attractivenesses are compared.
Further, Patent Document 1 discloses that vanillin, piperonal and the like are attractive to cockroaches, crickets, grasshoppers, grasshoppers, mantis, Diestrammena aureus and the like.
Further, Patent Document 2 discloses that sugar is added to improve the edible property of the poison bait, and examples of sugar include sucrose, glucose, fructose, lactose, brown sugar, brown sugar, and sanon tou. ..
However, the effects of the above-mentioned various ingredients that enhance the edible property of the prior art are not yet sufficient, and therefore, it is necessary to add them in a high concentration in the formulation, which limits the manufacturing suitability and other ingredients, and manufactures them. There is a problem in terms of cost.
Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a new method for improving the edible property of a pest control bait, which can easily improve the edible property of pests and obtain an excellent pest control effect at low cost. ..
The present inventor has made extensive studies. As a result, they have found that the above problems can be solved by adding water having a specific hardness to the bait in order to increase the amount of food consumed by the pest control bait, and have completed the present invention. ..

By including soft water in the pest control bait, its action is not clear, but since the pest's eating habitability can be improved, the pest control active ingredient can be efficiently ingested.
In the present invention, the hardness is defined by the American hardness, and the total amount of calcium and magnesium contained in water is indicated by a value (mg / L) converted into the amount of calcium carbonate. Specifically, the hardness (mg / L) is calculated by the formula of calcium (mg / L) × 2.5 + magnesium (mg / L) × 4.1. Further, in the present invention, soft water is defined as soft water having a hardness of 120 mg / L or less according to the standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The soft water used in the present invention is more preferably 100 mg / L or less in hardness, and further preferably 50 mg / L or less in hardness, from the viewpoint of further enhancing the eating habitability of pests.
