970,772. Pneumatic tyre beads. PNEUMATIQUES CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE & PLASTIQUES KLEBER COLOMBES. Dec. 30, 1960 [Dec. 31, 1959], No. 44825/60. Heading B7C. A tyre bead reinforcement comprises, in addition to the wire core 12, apex strip 13 and flipper 14, one or more strips 15, 16 of crosswoven or parallel-cord fabric folded lengthwise and extending circumferentially with the fold 15a or 16a disposed radially outwardly of the wire core 12 and of the free ends 15b, 15c or 16b, 16c of the strip, such ends being disposed adjacent the wire core. The two portions of the or each folded strip may be disposed on the same side of the wire core, as in Figs. 1 and 2 or on opposite sides of the wire core as for the nested folded strips 37, 38 shown in Fig. 4.
