920,555. Reciprocating pumps. T. BUDZICH. May 2, 1961, No. 15789/61. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] In a swash-plate pump having a stationary cylinder block 27 and a rotary valve plate 26, the spring- loaded cylinder block is mounted for limited angular movement, and the swash plate and valve plate are connected by a splined shaft 25 and bear against the ends of a housing 10 so that axial forces are transmitted thereto. Liquid enters cylinders 33 via inlet 56, casing 10 and ports 55, 48 and 46, Figs. 2 and 3, and is delivered through an outlet 53 via ports 46, 47, 50, 51 and 52, duplicate ports 49 being provided to effect hydraulic balancing. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, a connecting shaft 76 drives valve plate 26 through a pin 75 and balancing is effected by a piston 67, acting through a sealing cap 66, and a spring-loaded sleeve 62 having surfaces exposed to pressure. Cylinder block 27 pivots on surfaces 28, 29 and is located by a pin 30 engaging an oversize hole 31.
