887,960. Mounting seats. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. April 11, 1960 [April 17, 1959], No. 12820/60. Class 52(2) A vehicle has front and rear seats 2, 3 pivotally mounted on rockers 4, 5 with alternative pivot mountings 6, 7, 6<SP>1</SP> at the lower and/or upper pivots. The rockers may be connected by a torque tube 14, 16 either mid way along the rockers (as in Fig. 8) or at the upper pivots (as in Fig. 9), the pivotal bearings where the rockers join the seat shell having resilient sleeves 17. The position of the seats once the combination of mounting is fixed is controlled by a hydraulic or pneumatic ram acting between the lower rear pivot and midway on the front rocker or by a lever pivoted at the lower rear pivot and carrying a notched bar at the other end to engage a pin fixed to the upper front pivot (see Figs. 10 and 12, not shown).
