Abstract

847,361. Valves. KOSWA Ltd. June 11, 1957 [April 5, 1956], No. 10481/56. Class 135. A valve member 10 movable axially by means of a rotatable screw spindle 6 is of a stepped formation such that the rate of flow through the valve bears a linear relationship to the angle of rotation of the spindle between zero and fullflow conditions. The final closure is made by a frusto - conical portion f of the valve member, and a similar portion 12 seats on the casing in the fully open position of the valve to enable the stuffing box 7a to be repacked while the valve is under pressure. Bosses 14, 15 on the casing may be fitted with supplementary valves. Specification 847,362 is referred to.
