834,601. Linear-dimension gauges. OPTICAL MEASURING TOOLS Ltd. March 13, 1958 [March 13, 1957], No. 8303/57. Class 106 (2). [Also in Group XXII] In a measuring device, particularly for use in setting the slides of a jig-boring machine, of the type in which a number of rollers are arranged in a guide, rollers 11 are used for a part only of the length to be measured and the device has for the remainder of the length a bar or bars 18 capable of fitting into guides between the rollers. The bars 18 have curved ends which are ground about centres C and C1 lying above or below the axial height of the rollers. The bars are finished slightly longer than the required length and the effective length of the bars is adjusted by grinding off material on the underside of the bars.
