Abstract

819,220. Supporting cables in trunking. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 8, 1958 [Jan. 9, 1957], No. 887/57. Class 36. A cable support in trunking of the type shown in Fig. 2 is designed to be sprung into the opening of the trunking where it is retained by the flanges 6, 7 to space cables away from the lid (not shown). It may consist of a length of spring steel wire formed with a short side 3 and two longer sides 4 which cross as shown, or alternatively, of the buckle shaped piece of spring steel or plastic shown in Fig. 3 in which the longer sides 9 are sprung behind the trunking flanges and the sides 10, which curve upwards, support the cable. Both supports are made so as to present a bevelled or rounded edge to cable drawn over them.
