807,987. Capacitors. ERIE RESISTOR Ltd. July 23, 1957, No. 23318/57. Class 37. A " feed-through " capacitor has internal and external metallized coatings on a circular insulating body, the diameter of which varies along the body so that the small end may be passed through a mounting hole in a member such as a metal chassis and the large diameter portion engages the hole to position and secure the capacitor and enable a connection to be made. Fig. 1 shows the body 4, which may be of ceramic, the internal electrode 2, and the external electrode 8 covering a step 7 in the outside diameter. The electrode 8, which may be of silver, may be covered by a coating 9 of tin or tin-lead alloy. The capacitor body may, as an alternative, have a gradually varying diameter or it may be of constant diameter with a projecting bulge.
