Abstract

768,559. Sectional conveyer framework. CRAWLEY INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS, Ltd. Feb. 25, 1955 [Feb. 26, 1954], No. 5695/54. Class 78(1). A conveyer pan, for a conveyer comprising an inter-articulated series of interengaged openended pans, is made in three longitudinally successive sections releasably secured together at transverse joints so that at least one section can be released and removed from the others, without requiring longitudinal movement of the remaining sections, to leave a space permitting such longitudinal movement. As shown, a pan consisting of a bed plate A carried between side channels B provided with coupling means D and E, as disclosed in Specification 759,031, is modified by being formed of three sections, the middle one of which has its bed plate section A<1> detachably mounted by tongues engaging slots G in the side channel sections B<1>, the latter butting against the side channel end sections and being detachably secured thereto by coupling bolts J passing through lugs K in recessed members L on the respective sections, whereby after removal of bolts J, the channel sections B can be removed laterally, after which the plate section A<1> is lifted away to leave a clear space for longitudinal movement of the end sections of the pan or of adjacent pans to allow the couplings D, E to be undone. The flanges of the channel sections B<1> have shaped ends I forming half-lap joints with mating ends of the channel sections B.
