Abstract
Industrial slurries, e.g. of cement, have at least one alkali metal salt of an inorganic polyacid of a degree of polymerization of at least 3, excepting metaphosphates, added and the slurry made up to contain less than the normal amount of water whilst retaining normal viscosity. Specified polyacids are polyphosphoric, polythiophosphoric, polysilic, polymolybdic, polyvanadic, and polyboric-phosphoric, in an amount between 0.003 and 0.1 per cent. In addition a water soluble methylene sulphonate, sodium meta silicate and sodium carbonate may be present, the carbonate preferably in an amount to give the slurry a pH 6.5 to 9.5. Specification 101,484, [Class 22], is referred to.
