723,437. Reflector stoves. RAMSAY, F. R. F. May 7, 1953 [Feb. 12, 1952], No. 993/52. Class 126. A gas or oil fired heater comprises a, Bunsen burner enclosed within a combustion chamber, an air inlet to and an outlet from the chamber, and a reflector adjustably mounted on the chamber, the air inlet being positioned below the burner nozzle so that all the air travelling upwards through the chamber passes through the' burner flame, and the inlet and outlet chamber communicating only with the atmosphere outside the space to be heated. Air from outside a wall 9 is led through a balanced flue arrangement, and tube 2 to the bottom of a combustion chamber 1. A gas supply pipe 7, concentric with the air inlet and having a primary air inlet hole 8, feeds a burner 4 such that the flame occupies the whole cross sectional area of the combustion chamber 1. A reflector 11 is adjustably mounted on the chamber 1 and a detachable base cover 12 is provided for the chamber 1. The combustion gases escape through an outlet 3, forming an eccentric inner part of the balanced flue. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the air inlet pipe is separate from the outlet, a pilot light is provided for the burner, and an opening with a detachable window covering is formed in the combustion chamber. The primary air supply to the burner may be taken from outside the air inlet tube.
