Abstract
712,107. Gas turbine plant. JENDRASSIK, G. May 6, 1952 [May 16, 1950], No. 11469/51. Class 110(3) [Also in Group XXVIII] A rotary cell pressure exchanger (see Group XXVIII) in which an extraneous source of gas at a pressure above the low-pressure scavenging pressure is used to initiate and maintain the scavenging flow, is used to supply hot gas at high pressure to a gas turbine. The extraneous gas may be bled from an intermediate expansion stage of the turbine, or it may be the whole of the exhaust gas leaving the turbine. In another embodiment a pressure exchanger having contra-rotating rotors 25, 26, Fig. 3, which are scavenged in parallel and which are supplied with pressure gas by separate combustion chambers 37. 38, supplies a gas turbine 40. The extraneous gas is bled from the turbine and is supplied to the exchanger through ducts 42, 43, 44, coolers 45, throttle valves 46 and ducts 32, 33. Specification 290,669, [Class 8(i)], is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
