Abstract

588,612. Reciprocating pumps. GRAVESON, N. A. Aug. 8, 1944, No. 15038. [Glass 102 (i)] The suction valve 12 of a reciprocating pump is a mushroom valve of light construction and is coaxially aligned with the ram 10. The valve seat 15 is held in position by a ring nut 19 and the valve is loaded by a spring 24 surrounded by a sleeve 22 that abuts a stop 26, containing resilient material, to limit the opening of the valve. The suction pipe 29 is bent and attached to a sleeve 32 secured to the pump body to allow access to the valve. The pump has three cylinders.
