[Class 93] [Also in Group XVI] Hoop iron provided with markings of a deposited metal as described in the parent Specification is subjected to treatment in a chemical bath or by heat to produce different tints on the iron and on the deposited metal. By passing a hoop iron strip bearing deposited copper through a bath of hyposulphite of soda, multicoloured tints are produced on the copper, or by heating the strip by passing an electric current through it by means of a pair of contact pressure rollers between which the strip passes, various different tints can be imparted to the iron and to the copper according to the current, speed, or other conditions of working.
