333,465. Holophane, Ltd., (Dorey, W. A., and Rolph, T. W.). Nov. 1, 1929. Buoy and like lamps.-A boundary light for aviation fields comprises a light source 2 and a prismatic globe 3 which has a lower section 8 of reflecting prisms, an intermediate section of refracting prisms refracting the light upwardly and an upper section 5 of prisms refracting the light outwardly , the three sections co-operating to form a conical beam of high intensity. The zone 8 has reflecting prisms 9 on its outer surface and horizontal refracting prisms 10 on its inner surface, so as to re-direct incident light to the bowl part 5. The zone 11 has a smooth outer surface and a horizontal refracting inner surface 13. The bowl 5 has a convex smooth outer surface and horizontal refracting ribs 15, preferably arranged above a smooth inner surface portion 21. Coloured glass may be used for the globe.
