Abstract

A disc brake comprises a plate- like mounting bracket (1) disposed adjacent to one surface of a rotatable disc. A first pair of parallel pins (3a, 4a) are mounted on the bracket for slidably mounting thereon an indirectly operated friction pad assembly (9). A second pair of parallel pins (3b, 4b) are also mounted on the bracket and extend in a direction away from the disc. A caliper (5) is slidably mounted on the second pair of pins and has an actuating mechanism acting directly on a directly operated friction pad assembly (7) and indirectly on the friction pad assembly (9) through the caliper. <IMAGE>
