Aeroplanes; propelling; planes, arrangement of.-The planes of a hydro-aeroplane are attached to the sides of its buoyant body at deck level, and propellers at each side are at the height of the planes when the machine is in flight, but are adapted to be swung upwards about a shaft or shafts so as to clear the water when the machine is alighting. The propellers may be swung about a common transmission shaft t by elongating a strut s by a hydraulic device or a screw within the strut.
