Abstract

1470769 Supply systems for electric soldering apparatus A L ROYSTON 25 June 1974 [29 May 1973] 25354/73 Heading H2H The generation of heat by a soldering tool which comprises a heating coil 8 is regulated by means of a diode 9, connected between the coil 8 and an A.C. source, and a resiliently biased switch 11 connected in parallel with the diode 9 so that by operation of the switch either half wave or full wave alternating current passes through the heating coil 8. The switch 11 may be operated by a button located in the handle of the soldering tool. Alternatively if the soldering tool is associated with a rest or cradle, the switch may be actuated when the tool is placed in the rest.
