Abstract
1333294 Photo-conductive composition FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 8 Jan 1971 [8 Jan 1970] 1074/71 Headings G2C and C17C4 A photo-conductive composition comprises powdered inorganic photo-conductive material and a binder composition comprising (a) a copolymer of a vinyl monomer or butadiene and a hydroalkyl monomer of Formula wherein R is H or CH 3 , Z is CO 2 (CH 2 ) m ' CONHCH 2 or OCH 2 , m is 1 to 5, n is 0 or 1, (b) an alkyd resin compatible with the copolymer and (c) a polyisocyanate compound capable of cross-linking at least part of the copolymer. In the specific embodiments, the alkyd resin (b) may be modified with an acryl ester, styrene, phenol, rosin or soybean oil, the polyisocyanate (c) may be tolylene or xylylene diisocyanate and the photo-conductor is ZnO. The copolymer (a) is preferably styrene and n-butyl methacrylate together with methyl methacrylate and hydroxyethyl acrylamide or hydroxyethyl acrylate or methacrylate and optionally acrylic acid. Other monomers, alkyd resins, polyisocyanates and photo-conductors are specified. The composition is coated on paper or aluminized polyester film to give an electro-photographic element.
