Abstract

1301755 Windscreen wipers SOC ANON FRANCAISE DU FERODO 11 Dec 1970 [11 Dec 1969] 58964/70 Heading A4F [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A non-return valve for fitting into an aperture between two pipes or at the inlet of a reservoir 1 under negative or positive pressure comprises a flexible perforated diaphragm 14 stretched across and secured at its rim to a disc-like element 10, the apertures 17 in the diaphragm being off-set relative to the aperture 13 in the element 10. The valve is held in place by a cap 18 which is a 'snap-fit' in an annular groove in a flange 6. A plurality of radial fins 8 extend between the part 7 and the outer wall of the reservoir to provide added strength. The reservoir is moulded from polypropylene and may be used in a motor vehicle with the nozzle 4 attached to a windscreen wiper or to controls for operating valves or flaps in the heating and ventilating system or to brake return means, with the nozzle 19 connected to an intermittently operating vacuum source, e.g. the induction of the engine.
