Abstract
1290503 Gas burners; hot blast stoves DIDIER-WERKE AG 17 Oct 1969 [19 Oct 1968] 51128/69 Headings F4K and F4T A gas burner comprises a ceramic block 10 having a central rectangular opening 21 supplied with gas and flanked by sloping walls 18 provided with two rows of openings 17 supplied with air and extending parallel to the longer sides of the opening 21. Each row comprises four openings 17 which may be staggered with respect to, or in registry with, the openings of the other row. Channels 8, 9, supplying the openings 21, 17, are reduced in cross-section to promote even flow. The walls 18 define an angle of 40-120 degrees. The burner may be used in a hot blast stove comprising a shell 1, a base 2, and a cupola 6 with a steel dome 7. The base 2 has brick pillars 3 on which is supported a grate 4 supporting perforate bricks (not shown) which form a checkerwork. A wall 5 separates the checkerwork from the combustion chamber.
