Abstract

1,263,765. Alkaline protease. GODO SHUSEI K.K. 18 Nov., 1969, No. 45422/69. Heading C3H. A process for the production of an alkaline protease having activity over an optimum pH range from 10 to 10À5 comprises cultivating strains of Bacillus licheniformis in a culture broth under aerobic conditions and isolating the protease from the culture broth. The enzyme may be extracted from the filtered or centrifuged medium by salting out, dialysis, ionexchange, column chromatography, gel filtration and finally acetone precipitation.
