Abstract

1,213,193. Identification card; fraud preventing. E. KOMIYAMA. 23 Feb., 1968, No. 8985/68. Heading B6A. An identification card has the owner's signature 2 entered on a predetermined location and a filter card 3 overlaid so that the signature cannot be read with normal light but becomes visible when exposed to special rays such as ultra-violet or infra-red rays. The card body 1 may be millboard or synthetic resin sheet and the signature is entered on a fluorescent whitener film 5 on the body 1 or on a pasteboard 6. The signature is entered with an ink such as that containing titanium white which reflects or absorbs the ultra-violet or infra-red rays from a source 17 differently from the background so that a signature on a transaction form 14 can be compared with the signature 2 on the identity card by a viewer 19. A protective cover 7 may be placed over the filter 3.
