Abstract

Tubular metal tealusters 47 have flattened portions at rail height which are either apertured for the reception of tubular rails, or carry tubular spigots 45, 46, as shown, to which the rails are attached by grub screws fitted into annular recesses in the spigots. In analternative construction, (Fig. 4, not shown), the hand rail is fixed on to spigots 36 carried by a tube 35 fixed to the top of the baluster. A flat base plate may be welded to a baluster at any of several different angles (Figs. 10-13, not shown).
