1,090,924. Extruding thermoplastics tubing. BADISCHE ANILIN & SODA FABRIK A.G. Feb. 19, 1965 [Feb. 22, 1964], No. 7216/65. Addition to 1,043,229. Heading B5A. A machine for moulding relatively thickwalled tubing from thermoplastics having a narrow temperature range of fusion, e.g. polyamides, polyurethanes, polyolefines, polyacetals and chlorinated polyethers, is substantially as described in the parent Specification, but is modified in that stirrer 3 is provided with a cylindrical coaxial extension 5 which substantially determines the internal diameter of the tube. The stirrer 3 may be provided with a partial or complete coating of a synthetic plastic material e.g. a polymerized fluorohydrocarbon, which acts as a lubricant, and heat transfer from barrel 7 to cooling die 6 may be reduced by providing a bevelled annulus 8 or a disc between components 6 and 7 of material such as asbestos or a heat-resistant polymerized fluorohydrocarbon. Vacuum may be applied via ducts 10.
