Abstract

1,047,006. Torsional vibration dampers. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. Aug. 4, 1964 [Aug. 9, 1963], No. 31590/64. Heading F2S. A torsional vibration damper for internal combustion engine comprises a pressure-tight housing 2 in which are mounted an inertic mass 5 and a torsional-elastic element 7 in a viscous damping fluid, the mass being guided on bearing rings 13, 14. The torsional-elastic element is attached to two rings 8, 9 as by vulcanization, screws 6, 12 also being incorporated in the assembly whereby the element is attached to the inertic mass 5 and the casing. The element may be positioned between the axially extending peripheral portion of the mass and the casing. The element may comprise an elastomer of the group of co-polymers of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene.
