Abstract

A hood (1) is placed over the burner of a portable cooker. Several vertical tubes (2) rising from the hood take the hot gases into a battery of horizontal tubes (5) between headers (3). There is a discharge pipe from the battery. Room air (A) flows over the heater battery. The heat transfer surface is increased by inclined fins (7) below the battery and vertical fins above it. A hood over the upper fins directs the air to low level within the room. This prevents the heat from the cooker rising to the top of the room.
