Abstract

Conveyor roller is formed by a sleeve whose ends are mounted on the roller shaft by means of slip couplings in the form of annular members, each of the shaft ends being provided with a ball bearing adjacent one of which is located a chain sprocket. The roller has a hexagonal shaft on which are mounted the annular members which have their radially outer periphery received within a seat of the roller end formed by an annular, profiled die-stamping and provided with a locating lip, which is integral with the seat. Slip couplings provide controlled torque transmission or permit of roller tripping during jamming.
