Abstract
The helicopter blade de-icer consists of a heating network which runs the length and both sides of the leading edge of each blade. An external anti-abrasive and anti-corrosive skin consists stainless steel strips covering the leading edge, their adjoining edges forming transverse joints. The heating network is divided into several elements electrically connected to one another by bridges crossing joints only in the vicinity of the leading edge. The bridges connecting the elements are made of slightly undulating metal cables.
