Abstract

In an automatic machine for fabricating hollow articles partic, bottles, by the known technique of inflating a tubular parison as it is extruded hot from a continuous extruder, by the admission of air under pressure to the interior of the parison while this is inside forming cavities in moulds capable of opening and closing and succeeding each other at constant translational speed, there is incorpd. (a) an assembly of flexible half-moulds circulating along two trajectories in a closed loop each trajectory comprising two straight sections connected by two circular parts, the flexibility of the moulds allowing them to be inscribed in the curves of the trajectories while their structure, including the necessary devices for driving them along their trajectory as well as means for their precise assembly in pairs to form a complete mould, and (b) an assembly of guide devices maintg. the flexible half-moulds on their trajectory and ensures their assembly on a straight part thereof while a closure element serves as a fixed nozzle for the introduction of the parison into the moulding cavity of the half-moulds at the instant these are brought together.
