An aq. saline soln. satd. with NaCl and contg. free Mg, K and trace elements essential for living organisms in the same proportions as in sea water is obtd. by solar evaporation until the satn. point for NaCl is reached at a concn. coefficient of 8.9. The soln. is naturally sterile and can be stored for long periods, without special precautions.
