Description

The present invention relates to the field of jars, in particular that of jars for cosmetic products. The term “cosmetic product” is understood to mean in particular all the products for making up the skin and all the compositions intended for body application.

Cosmetic product jars generally comprise a base, intended to contain a cosmetic product, surmounted by a neck having an opening diameter close to that of the section of the base. The base is closed by a cover, for example screwed on the neck. In order to seal the closure, a gasket is generally interposed between the cover and the base.

Various configurations are known in the state of the art to obtain a sufficient level of tightness. According to a first known configuration, fasteners may be present on the underside of the cover as well as on the upper face of the seal in order to allow the seal to match the underside of the cover. These fasteners can be, for example, studs which are screwed onto one another. The seal is then compressed against the neck when screwing or tightening the cover on the base. This type of solution is notably proposed in the document FR2776625 .

Another known configuration consists of a pot comprising an annular crown surrounding the opening and the neck of the base and on which the cover is hinged. A seal, comprising a sealing lip, can then be placed between the crown and the cover. This type of solution is notably proposed in the document FR2701366 . WO2015181726 also describes a jar for cosmetic product.

The jars for cosmetic product implementing the aforementioned solutions are most often made of plastic. For example aesthetic, environmental or functional considerations may lead to the use of another material, such as glass for example. However, some materials such as glass and porcelain (or other ceramic) are subject, during their manufacture, to strong variations in dimensions from one part to another. Also, during the manufacture of the glass or ceramic jar, a significant dispersion concerning the diameter or the height of the neck may take place. Indeed, the variation in dimension can be up to three times greater for glass jars than for plastic ones.

Thus, a closure system equipped with a seal as known in the prior art cannot ensure an easy-to-operate closing or opening as well as a satisfactory seal for a jar made of glass or any other material involving dimensional manufacturing dispersions. Moreover, given this dimensional dispersion, the force to be applied to the seal (generally disposed between the lid and the base of the jar) during the first use to conform it to the base of the glass jar is greater than for a plastic pot. In addition, this force induces higher mechanical stresses on the clamping or screwing system, which leads to greater wear of the pot over time. Finally, the user is then forced to apply a greater tightening torque, as the system degrades and the seal relaxes.

A solution making it possible to solve the aforementioned problems associated with the dimensional dispersions in the manufacture of the pots is therefore desirable.

The object of the invention is to provide a jar for cosmetic products allowing easy opening and closing, while guaranteeing a sufficient level of sealing and obtained reliably despite the dimensional dispersions during the manufacture of the jars.

Thus, the invention relates to a jar for a cosmetic product comprising a base surmounted by a substantially cylindrical neck defining an opening and a cover equipped with a seal having an upper surface and a lower surface. Said neck of the pot has a mouthpiece having an inner periphery having a shoulder which forms a concave surface. Said seal comprises on its lower surface an annular flexible lip having on an outer peripheral wall a convex shape which comes, when the cover is tightened on the base, to conform to said concave surface on the back. at least a portion of the height of the shoulder and press in a sealed manner against said mouthpiece over its entire inner periphery so as to ensure a sealed closure of the pot.

The jar for cosmetic product thus developed makes it possible to guarantee a good seal as well as a great ease of opening or closing the lid on the base of the jar. Indeed, the flexibility of the seal as well as the shape of its lip, complementary to that of the rim, allow it to deform so as to be able to compensate for the dimensional dispersions of manufacture. They also make it possible to have a tightening torque of a low level, which reduces the risks of degradation of the pot over time.

According to embodiments, the base of the pot can be made of glass or ceramic.

The opening may have a diameter greater than or equal to 25 millimeters.

The cover may have a clamping system on the base by clipping.

The cover may include a hooking plate and a cover, the hooking plate comprising claws, at least one slide and a piloting stud having at least two positions, namely an open position when the pot is open and a rest position when the pot is closed, the hooking plate and the cover being mounted to rotate with respect to each other.

The cover may be of a type adapted to close on the base by application of vertical pressure.

The neck may include on its outer periphery a notch or groove defined under a peripheral rim and in which are formed two guide ramps making it possible to guide the closing or opening of the cover on the base.

The seal may have the general shape of a disc comprising an upper face fixed to the lower face of the cover.

The seal may in particular have the general shape of a disc comprising on its lower face the annular flexible lip.

The lip may be configured to conform to the concave shoulder of the mouthpiece over at least a portion of the height of said shoulder.

The seal can be made of elastic material. In this case, the seal can be made of polypropylene, polyethylene, elastomer or styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS).

In such a pot, a dimension of the lip corresponding to the length of the arc formed, in section, by its outer peripheral wall, is substantially the same as the developed length of the concavity of the shoulder on the rim.

The pot may include a tank inside the base intended to receive the cosmetic product.

The figure 1 shows an embodiment of a jar 1 for a cosmetic product with a square outline comprising a base 2 and a cover 3. The term “square outline” jar is understood to mean a jar having a base having a substantially parallelepipedal shape with a square bottom, which does not exclude pots with rounded contours or any other slight alteration of its general shape. In addition, the present description is made for a pot 1 with a square outline, but is valid mutatis mutandis for any pot regardless of the general external shape of its base.

The base 2 can be made of any suitable material, but the invention is of particular interest for jars for cosmetic products comprising a base 2 made of glass, porcelain or similar material such as certain ceramics which may pose a problem of dimensional dispersions such as previously explained.

As can be seen on the figure 2 , the base 2 comprises a container 200 and a neck 201 which surmounts the container 200.

The cylindrical neck 201 defines an opening 202 which allows access to a product contained in the container 200. In the example shown here, the dimensions of the neck 201 and of the opening 202 are close to the dimensions in section of the base 2. The opening 202 of the pot 1 is wide enough to allow the passage of at least one finger of a hand, that is to say that it has for example a diameter greater than or equal to 25 millimeters.

The neck 201 has on its outer periphery a notch or groove 206, and a peripheral rim 207 under which the notch or the groove 206 is defined. The latter extend all around the neck 201.

The neck 201 also comprises a mouthpiece 203 on the inner periphery of which is produced a shoulder 204 making it possible to create a concave surface. The term “drinker 203” is understood to mean the part of the neck 201 located above the notch or the groove 206. A partial view of the drinker 203 of the pot 1 is shown in the figure. figure 6 .

According to the embodiment illustrated in figure 2 , two guide ramps 208, diametrically opposed to each other, create a projection in the notch or groove 206. They have a sloping part at the end of which there is a landing. These guide ramps 208 serve as guides when screwing the cover 3 on the pot 1.

The opening or closing of the pot 1 is effected by means of the cover 3. When opening the pot 1, the user turns the cover 3, for example counterclockwise. The guide ramps 208 allow, thanks to their sloping part, easy opening of the pot 1. When closing the pot 1, the user turns the cover 3, for example clockwise. The bearings of the guide ramps 208 then block the screwing operation, indicating to the user that the closed position of the pot 1 has been reached. The opening or closing of the pot 1 is therefore not carried out by a complete screwing but only by slightly turning the cover 3. The angle of screwing or unscrewing of the cover 3 can be defined by the dimensions of the guide ramps 208 The guide ramps 208 cooperate with the cover 3 and make it possible to indicate to the user that the pot 1 is in the open or closed position.

As shown in figure 3 , the cover 3 has a lower face 301 comprising a closure system 302 and an external part, called a cover 4. This closure system 302 can be a screwing system or a clamping system for the neck 201. This tightening can be achieved by clipping, by hooking elements or any other equivalent system.

The figure 3 shows an exploded view of pot 1 of the figure 1 comprising a cover 3 having a closure system 302 produced by hooking elements which can be used in a pot according to the invention. The cover 3 has an internal part called the attachment plate 5 mounted to rotate with respect to the cover 4.

Generally, for this type of closure system, the attachment plate 5 comprises claws 501 having at least two positions: a first open position called the open position of the cover 3 and a second position called the rest position when the pot is closed by the cover 3. When the cover 3 is in the rest position and the pot 1 is closed, the claws 501 are engaged in the notch or groove 206 of the neck 201 of the base 2. When the cover 3 is in the open position, the claws 501 are spread apart of the neck 201 relative to the first position and are disengaged from the notch or the groove 206.

According to the embodiment presented in figure 3 , the cover 3 also comprises three slides 502 and three control studs 503 configured to slide relative to the slides 502 between said first position and said second position. The hooking plate 5 assumes said first position when the control studs 503 are in the first position relative to the slides 502 and the hooking plate 5 takes said second position when the control studs 503 are in the second position relative to to the slides 502.

The cover 4 and the hooking plate 5 thus cooperate to allow easy opening and reliable closing of the pot 1. The cover 3, as shown in figure 3 , is described in more detail in the document FR3032335 .

In order to guarantee the tightness of the pot 1, a seal 6 is interposed between the base 2 and the cover 3.

The figure 4 shows the interaction between lip 603 and drinker 203. This interaction will be described in more detail later.

As presented in figures 5a and 5b , the seal 6 is a disc which has an upper surface 601, oriented towards the cover 3, and a lower surface 602, oriented towards the container 200.

The upper surface 601 is fixed to the lower face 301 of the cover 3. The upper surface 601 can for example be glued to the lower surface 301 of the cover 3. However, the seal 6 can be fixed to the cover 3 by any other known means suitable.

The lower surface 602 for its part comprises a flexible lip 603 as shown in figure 5b . The lip 603 has a convex shape on its outer peripheral wall 604. The latter allows a tight closure of the pot 1.

Indeed, when the cover 3 is tightened on the base 2, the convex shape of the lip 603 matches the concave surface 205 of the shoulder 204 over at least a portion of its height and presses tightly against the drink 203 all over its inner periphery.

The cover 3 is tightened on the base 2, for example by keeping it resting on the neck 201 or by applying a vertical pressure bearing force of the cover 3 on the base 2.

When tightening the cover 3 on the base 2, the lip 603 slides in order to pass from the rest state to the support state thus allowing the outer wall 604 having a convex shape to rest against the mouthpiece 203 .

The figure 7 shows a section on a larger scale of the lip 603 in the rest state (shown in dotted lines) as well as when it is pressed against the mouthpiece 203 (shown in solid lines) when closing the cover 3 on the base 2 .

When the cover 3 is in the rest position, the seal 6 is compressed and the lip 603 is pressed against the mouthpiece 203. The figure 7 shows the complementarity of shape between the lip 603 and the mouthpiece 203 when closing the pot 1. When the cover 3 is in the open position, the lip 603 is relaxed. The lip 603 then adopts, by elastic return, the configuration shown in dotted lines.

As shown in figure 7 , the mouthpiece 203 has a height h and the lip 603 a dimension l corresponding to the length of the arc formed, in section, by its outer peripheral wall 604. When tightening the cover 3 on the base 2, the contact between the lip 603 and the drink 203 is obtained over at least a portion of the height h. This contact is obtained by the clamping force of the cover 3 on the base 2, combined with the tendency of the lip 603 to resume, by elasticity, the rest position shown in dotted lines at the bottom. figure 7 .

Preferably, the dimension l of the lip 603 is substantially the same as the developed length of the concavity of the shoulder 204 on the mouthpiece 203. This makes it possible to optimize the tightness of the pot 1.

The seal 6 can be made of any suitable elastic material, polypropylene, polyethylene, but also of an elastomer, in particular styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS, thermoplastic elastomer), or any other material having equivalent physical properties. . The elasticity of the lip 603 of the seal 6 allows it to be deform to compensate from one part to another for the dimensional variations in the manufacture of pot 1. It also allows it to regain its resting state (shown in dotted lines on figure 7 ) in the absence of mechanical stress exerted on it.

Furthermore, in the case of a depression of the surrounding environment with respect to the inside of the closed pot 1, for example in an airplane, the depression creates a force which presses the lip 603 of the seal 6 against the shoulder. 204 of the drinker 203 and guarantees even more tightness.

The seal 6 therefore guarantees a good seal in all circumstances.

Cosmetic product jars can also be subject to degradation. In fact, jars for cosmetic products are generally subjected to frequent handling (closing and opening). Thus, it is desirable that the pot 1 does not deteriorate following these manipulations and that its closing or opening be easy and the rest over time.

This is the reason why the closure of the pot 1 is preferably carried out by applying a vertical pressure without rotation with respect to the base 2. In addition, the shape and the material of the seal 6 and of the lip 603 make it possible to reduce the force necessary to apply for closing the pot 1. In fact, there is no need to apply a significant force in order to conform the seal 6 to the pot and in particular to the shoulder of his drink. The low force applied prevents degradation of the pot 1, in particular of the cover 3 and of its closure system 302, and of the seal 6.

Thus, the seal 6 makes it possible to largely absorb the dimensional tolerances (axial or thickness of the glass for example) while maintaining the force necessary for closing the pot at a low level.

The seal 6 can have additional advantages if it is used with the closure system 302 comprising a hooking plate 5, as described above.

Indeed, in the case of the use of the cover 3 of the document FR3032335 in combination with a seal 6 and a base 2 as previously described, there is no, or very little, relative rotation between the plate hooking 5 and the neck 201. The seal 6 is therefore not, or very little, stressed in shear, and it is possible to choose a relatively adherent material which has a high coefficient of friction, which improves sealing.

Obviously, the invention is not limited to the detailed embodiment described above. Numerous variants are conceivable without departing from the scope of the invention.

For example, the base 2 can have a cylindrical shape as is often the case for cosmetic jars.

The cosmetic product can be contained in a refillable tank placed inside the base 2 instead of being directly contained in the base 2 as presented in the embodiment described above.

The opening 202 of the pot 1 can also have other shapes, which has the consequence of correspondingly modifying the shape of the seal 6 presented in the embodiment described above as being a disc.

The seal 6 may for example have a generally annular shape, or more generally have an open surface.

Claims (14)

1. A cosmetic product pot (1) comprising a base (2) surmounted by a substantially cylindrical neck (201) defining an opening (202) and a lid (3) equipped with a seal (6) having an upper surface (601) and a lower surface (602),
   said neck (201) of the pot (1) possessing a brim (203) having an inside periphery comprising a shoulder (204) and said seal (6) comprising on its lower surface (602) an annular flexible lip (603) which, when the lid (3) is tightened onto the base (2), comes to press sealingly against said brim (203) over its entire inside periphery so as to ensure fluid-tight closure of the pot (1), said pot (1) being characterized in that said shoulder forms a concave surface (205) and in that said annular flexible lip (603) has on an outside peripheral wall (604) a convex form which, when the lid (3) is tightened onto the base (2), espouses said concave surface (205) over at least a portion of the height of the shoulder (204).
2. A pot (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the base (2) is made from glass or ceramic.
3. A pot (1) according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the opening (202) has a diameter greater than or equal to 25 millimeters.
4. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the lid (3) has a system for tightening onto the base (2) by snap engagement.
5. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the lid comprises a coupling plate (5) and a cap (4), the coupling plate (5) comprising claws (501), at least one slide (502) and a guide stud (503) having at least two positions, i.e. an opening position when the pot (1) is open and a resting position when the pot is closed, the coupling plate (5) and the cap (4) being assembled rotatably relative to each other.
6. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the lid (3) is configured to close on the base (2) by application of a vertical pressure.
7. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the neck (201) comprises on its outside periphery an indentation or groove (206) defined under a peripheral rim (207) and in which are provided two guide ramps (208) enabling the closing or opening of the lid (3) on the base (2) to be guided.
8. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the seal (6) has the general shape of a disk comprising an upper face (601) attached to the lower face (301) of the lid (3).
9. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the seal (6) has the general shape of a disk comprising the flexible annular lip (603) on its lower face (602).
10. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the lip (603) is configured so as to shape itself to the concave shoulder (204) of the brim (203) over at least a portion of the height of said shoulder (204).
11. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the seal (6) is made from elastic material.
12. A pot (1) according to claim 11, characterized in that the seal (6) is made from polypropylene, polyethylene, from elastomer or from styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS).
13. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 12, characterized in that one dimension (I) of the lip (603) corresponding to the length the of arc formed, in cross-section, by its outside peripheral wall (604), is substantially the same as the developed length of the concavity of the shoulder (204) on the brim (203).
14. A pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a tub inside the base (2) configured to receive the cosmetic product.
