Beim Biegen des Bleches mittels der Formstempel 3 treten somit die einzelnen Reihen der Formwerkzeugstempel 1 mit ihren Stirnseiten bzw. Pressschuhen 1.1 zur Blechkante hin nacheinander mit der betreffenden Oberfläche des Blechs in Kontakt, wobei sich der Hebelarm zwischen der betreffenden Reihe der Formwerkzeugstempel 1 und der Reihe der Formstempel 3 zunehmend verkürzt und damit die aufzubringenden Biegekräfte erhöhen. Vorzugsweise sind die Formstempel 3 für höhere Kräftebeanspruchungen ausgelegt als die Formwerkzeugstempel 1, da sie auch dynamisch stärker beansprucht werden. Einem Pressschuh 4 können mehrere Formstempel 3 mit hydraulischen bzw. pneumatischen Antrieben zugeordnet sein, so dass die Anzahl der weiteren Pressschuhe 4 in diesem Falle geringer ist als die Anzahl der Formstempel 3.
