- Recessed LED luminaire, which has the following features:a modular unit (16), containing at least one LED (18) (light-emitting diode, luminescence diode) as the luminous means; a rear side (22), a front side (24) remote therefrom, a light-transmitting face (26) on the front side for the light of the at least one LED; and fastening elements (30), which have a fastening section (32), which can be fastened to the modular unit (16), and a fastening section (34), which can be fastened to a conventional electrical installation box (2; 102; 202), the modular unit (16) and the fastening elements (30) being matched to the internal dimensions of a conventional electrical installation box (2; 102; 202) in such a way that the modular unit (16) together with fastening elements (30) fastened to it can be inserted into the box (2; 102; 202), the light-transmitting face (26) of the modular unit (16) pointing out in the direction out of the box (2; 102; 202), and the modular unit (16) having a switched mode power supply (20) for producing a low electrical voltage which is compatible for the at least one LED from a higher (in relation thereto) local distribution AC voltage and connection means (23, 24) of the switch mode power supply (20) on a side other than the front side for connection to system voltage lines, it being possible for the modular unit (16) together with system voltage lines connected to the connection means (23, 24) to be inserted into the box (2; 102; 202) and for the fastening elements (30) to be fastened to the box if the connection elements (23, 24) are already connected to system voltage lines in the box, characterized in that the fastening elements (30) are Z-shaped brackets, which each have a web (42) and the fastening sections (32, 34), which extend away from said web in opposite directions and of which in each case one can be fastened to the modular unit (16) and the other is anchored on the box (2; 102; 202), the fastening elements (30), which are fastened to the modular unit (16), can be fastened to the box (2; 102; 202) if the modular unit has already been inserted into the box.

- Recessed LED luminaire, according to Claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the anchoring elements (46) of the other fastening section (34) are designed to at the same time fasten the covering frame (50) and the other fastening section (34) of the fastening elements (30) to the box (2; 102; 202).

- Recessed LED luminaire, according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the box (2; 102; 202), is a conventional flush-mounted electrical installation box.
