Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to the mechanisms type of connection comprising, in a base made of insulating material, a terminal block having itself at least one set of two connection terminals electrically connected to each other, these connection terminals comprising each a part of commitment, for the introduction of a cable or electrical conductor, and a control portion, for clamping thereof.
- connection mechanisms which, in the manner of the mechanism of a any other electrical equipment, such as for example a switch or a base socket, are adapted to be housed in a housing, that this housing is itself a mounting box allowing the implantation of the whole within any support, by example a wall or a partition, or whether it is a case to dispose directly projecting on such a support.
- fastening means suitable for report directly or indirectly all on such a support intervene externally on the base.
- the present invention is more particularly aimed at the case where the pedestal being of tubular general shape, to be arranged according to a orientation for which its axis and its generators extend substantially perpendicularly to the surface of the support to be equipped, the fastening means planned to allow reporting the assembly on this support intervene between the two open ends of this base.
- connection mechanisms comprising such a base find in particular their application in the constitution of a cable outlet.
- such a cable outlet allows the connection to a cable or conductor of arrival, which opens inside the box corresponding, of a cable or output conductor, which, emerging, him, from this housing, is intended to provide the service of any apparatus electric.
- the terminal block of such a connection mechanism is mounted floating in the base, in the manner of a terminal strip of common type.
- the user may, at the cable connection or output conductor, extract more or less from the base this terminal block and thus have untimely access to the cable or conductor of arrival, even though this cable or finish conductor may be under pressure.
- the terminal block is carried by a plate to remove of the assembly for the connection of the cable or output conductor, so that the danger of a possible inadvertent contact with the cable or conductor arrival is still accentuated.
- the present invention generally relates to a provision to avoid this inconvenience, by opposing systematically to the possibility of such contact.
- connection mechanism of the kind having a base of generally tubular shape, between the two open ends of which intervene, externally, means of appropriate to allow the assembly to be reported on any support, and in which is housed a terminal block having at least one set of two connection terminals electrically connected to each other, these terminals of each having a commitment part, for the introduction of a cable or electrical conductor, and a control part, for the clamping it,
- this connecting mechanism being generally characterized in that the terminal block is integral with the base, and in that the part of command, at least, of a first of the connection terminals is accessible to the user only by a first of the open ends of the base, while the control part, at least, of the second of the terminals of connection is accessible to the user only by the second of these extremities open.
- connection mechanism when the connection mechanism according to the invention is in place on its support, the operator has access to the control part than one of the connection terminals of the terminal block, namely the one on the side of the open front end of the base, access to the control part of the other of these connection terminals, namely the one that is on the side of the rear open end of the base, requiring, for against, a removal of this base.
- a cable exit the first terminal of connection, that is to say the one on the side of the open front end of the base, is used for the connection of the cable or output conductor.
- both its commitment part and its control part are accessible to the user by this open front end of the base.
- the second connection terminal that is to say the one that is located on the side of the rear open end of the base, is used for the connection of the cable or conductor of arrival, and, preferably, both the control part that the engagement part of this second terminal of connection are then accessible to the user only by the second end open base, that is to say by its open end back.
- connection mechanism when the connection mechanism according to the invention is in place on its support and that it is a cable exit, the user advantageously has a direct access to the only connection terminal needed to connect a cable or output conductor, in this case the connection terminal intervening on the side of the open front end of the base of this connection mechanism, and that, for that purpose, he does not have to proceed to any deposit of this latest.
- connection terminal in this case the connection terminal intervening on the side of the rear open end of the base, remain possible, but it implies beforehand a deposit of the entire connection mechanism according to the invention, that is to say a removing it from the support on which it is reported.
- the user does not normally have to intervene on such a connection mechanism when, for any operation, such that for example the cleaning or the repair of the coating due to concerned, the lid is removed, usually covering the base of this connection mechanism and / or that of the plate forming hubcap also surrounding this one usually.
- connection mechanism which, in place, does not provide than the control part of the connection terminal intended for a outside conductor.
- connection mechanism is part of a very general architecture different from that of the connection mechanism which is the subject of the present invention.
- a base of generally tubular shape in the sense of the present invention in the measure, at least, where, having two successive portions of dimensions different, the corresponding base forms, internally, between its two open ends, a shoulder against which the associated terminal block, which itself, presents two portions of different dimensions, is in application by the wall separating one from the other its two portions.
- the terminal block is not actually attached to the base, since it is simply supposed to be wedged axially in it by a clamping screw who is engaged transversally with him by being engaged, in practice with play, in a chimney of this base.
- connection terminals of this terminal block that is to say the parts of these connection terminals which allow the tightening of conductors, namely the previous clamping screw on one side and crimping portion of the other, are not accessible to the user by the open ends of the base, but through side openings thereof.
- the two terminals connecting each of the terminal block games of the connection mechanism according to the invention are electrically connected to one another by a plate each of which are integral with each other, and they extend back to back by compared to this metal plate.
- connection terminals is advantageously directly oriented towards that of the open ends of the base from which at least its control part is accessible.
- the metal plate thus carrying back to back two connection terminals is flat and it extends obliquely in the basement.
- control part of that of these connection terminals which is located on the side of the open front end of the pedestal also extends into oblique, which, from an ergonomic point of view, is advantageously of a nature to facilitate access.
- this control part of the terminal of connection near the open front end of the base can advantageously be oriented upwards.
- connection mechanism according to the invention belongs to an output of cable.
- the obliquity of the metal plate thus carrying the two connection terminals of each of the terminal block games of the connection according to the invention is also advantageously favorable to the compactness of the whole, corresponding to a good compromise in the search for a footprint that is minimal both axially and transversely for such a set.
- connection mechanism 10 comprises a base 11, in insulating material, and of tubular general shape, between the two ends 12A, 12B of which intervene, externally, according to arrangements described in more detail later, fastening means 13 suitable for bringing the assembly back to any support 14.
- this support 14 is a wall in which the connection mechanism 10 must be at least recessed part.
- this is a kind of frame having a central opening 16 for receiving the mechanism of connection 10.
- one of the open ends 12A, 12B of the base 11, and, for example, its open end 12A can be considered to be its front open end, as shown, while the other of these open ends 12A, 12B, and therefore, in this case, the open end 12B, can be considered as being its end open back.
