Abstract

The boot, made from a plastic shell (1) and an inner lining, has at least one zone (12) of reduced rigidity on the inside or outside of the shell in line with the metatarso-phalangeal joint. The shell is made from two layers of plastic, e.g. polyurethane, with different degrees of rigidity, with the supple zone(s) (12) formed by the less rigid layer of plastic only, the hardness of which is between 45 and 55 shD. In variants the supple zone can include textile or elastomer materials, or it can be made from a hole in the plastic shell aligned with a patch of a less rigid plastic material on the liner.

Description

The present invention relates to a sports shoe, in particular skiing or skating, comprising a hull made of plastic and an inner liner, said shell having at least one zone of rigidity less than the rigidity of the rest of the hull.

Since the appearance on the ski boot market made of plastic comprising a shell relatively rigid ensuring good foot hold, it happens that wide-footed skiers often experience pain in the joint metatarsophalangeal, on the outside of the foot, pain due to compression of this area by the shoe shell. To remedy this pain, special devices have been developed to expand the shell by deformation in the sensitive area. At this day again, despite the mastery of bi-injection and the developments presented by the manufacturers specialized, no practical solution has been found to this problem.

In the patent FR 2 077 184 it was certainly proposed, for the first time, to manufacture, by bi-injection, a ski boot shell having varying degrees flexibility in various regions of the upper, but the aforementioned problem has not been resolved in a manner specific and satisfactory. This shell has a relatively flexible main part on which are formed by extra thicknesses of more rigid material and relatively hard attachment areas are provided in face of the metatarsophalangeal joint.

The bi-injection technique, that is to say of successive injections in the same mold, is also used for shoe manufacturing described in patent FR 2,671,947.

Finally, from patent application EP 0 645 101 and from International DM / 037 399 model, we know a shell ski boot having areas of stiffness different, the more rigid parts constituting a kind of triangular rigid reinforcement whose role is optimal transmission of forces between the leg and fixation. This frame extends in the region metatarsophalangeal.

The present invention aims to provide a simple solution to the problem of pain felt in level of the metatarsophalangeal joint. In indeed if we consider the population of people who have a given size, the width of the metatarsophalangeal joint varies as well as its position relative to the heel.

The shoe according to the invention is characterized in that that the lower stiffness zone is an area relatively flexible located on the side of the hull corresponding to the exterior and / or interior side of the foot, so as to be in front of the joint metatarsophalangeal.

This area may be reduced in size, but its flexibility must be sufficient for it to easily deform laterally under the pressure of the metatarsophalangeal joint without exerting a painful pressure on this area.

This lower stiffness zone is preferably obtained by injection, according to a bi-injection process, flexible plastic in said area.

The shell can of course have other areas of less rigidity.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two modes of carrying out the invention.

Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view along II-II in Figure 1, without the closure loop and Tightening.

Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view along II-II in Figure 1, without the closure loop and tightening representing a second embodiment of the invention.

On distingue en outre un chausson intérieur de confort 8.The ski boot shown in Figure 1 is consisting of a shell 1, called a variable volume, intended to surround the foot and ankle and with a collar 2 articulated on the shell 1 at a point 3 located in the malleolar region, this collar 2 being intended to surround the lower leg. This shoe, according to a well-known construction, has two loops clamp 4 and 5 for clamping the shell 1 and two loops 6 and 7 for tightening the collar 2. On further distinguishes an inner comfort shoe 8.

As can be seen in Figure 2, the shell 1 is consisting of two layers of plastic la and 1b associated by a bi-injection process, or multi-injection or by bonding or by another equivalent process. The plastics used are preferably polyurethane. The layer there, located inside the hull consists of a plastic with substantially elasticity greater than the elasticity of the external part lb which includes the sole 9 and the upper flap 10 of the shell which is made only of the most plastic rigid.

On the outside of the shoe, the part outer 1b of the shell has a cutout 11 positioned to surround an area of the hull located in front of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the foot. This cut 11 delimits an area 12 in which one encounters only the least plastic rigid the. The flexibility of the plastic is such that zone 12 can deform slightly under pressure of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the foot of so as to significantly reduce the pressure on this joint and, therefore, to avoid the appearance of pain there.

The extent of zone 12 may vary within a certain extent, this extent should not however be too great not to affect the general stiffness of the front end of the hull.

Although the hull has been shown only with the cutout 11, it could have other areas of the same type in order to lighten the hull as expected in the prior art.

In a second embodiment of the invention, the shell 1 consists of a single layer of material plastic and it has a cutout 11 similar to that of the first embodiment described above. This cutout delimits an area in which meets a plastic element 13 less rigid than the rest of the hull, said element 13 being fixed to the comfort liner 8 itself and not the shell 1, as in the first embodiment. The flexibility of this less rigid plastic element 13 allows also a slight deformation under the pressure of the metatarsophalangeal joint. Moreover, the tightness of the shell 1 is ensured during tightening of the shoe on the foot.

Par exemple, la matière souple pourrait se trouver dans la continuation de la matière rigide, voire même à l'extérieur de celle-ci.Different types of stacking of flexible materials and rigid can be considered, especially the flexible material could only be provided in the area 12. For example, the flexible material could be in the continuation of the rigid material, even to outside of it.

We could also foresee in zone 12 other materials such as textile materials or elastomers.

De plus, l'élément 13 en plastique moins rigide peut entourer, au moins partiellement, le chausson intérieur 8.In addition, the element 13 made of less rigid plastic can surround, at least partially, the inner liner 8.

The modes of execution described are for example, and the application of the invention is not limited to ski boots: the principle of the invention can very well be applied to other shoes, such as skate shoes, with a relatively rigid shell which creates problems similar to those of ski boots.
