Description

The invention relates to a suspension device for a piece of seating or rest furniture with a relatively movable foot and bearing surface part, in which the upper bearing surface part, which enables sitting or lying down, is suspended by rope pendulums on the lower foot part, with two or more rope pendulums functionally in series at each suspension point are arranged, and the bearing points of the bearing surface part and the pendulum ends opposite the foot part are connected to one another.

A suspension device of the type mentioned is known from the international publication WO-A-86/04793. In this device, the functionally connected pendulums have different pendulum lengths and therefore each have different natural frequencies. In this way, when the system capable of oscillation is excited with pulses of varying frequency, an excitation of at least one of these rope pendulums with or almost at its natural frequency should always be ensured in order to obtain sufficient oscillation amplitudes even with weak pulses.

The invention has for its object to provide a suspension device of the type mentioned, which allows for maximum dynamization with a compact design, i. A high degree of sensitization to fine vibrations with good stabilization and damping properties at large deflections is guaranteed.

This object is achieved in that the pendulums arranged in series have approximately the same pendulum length in a generic suspension device.

Advantageously, the connection of the bearing points of the bearing surface part and the pendulum ends opposite the foot part consists of a frame, the height of which corresponds to the pendulum length, the pendulum fastened to the bearing surface part being fastened to the top of the frame and the pendulum fastened to the foot part being fastened to the underside of the frame. In a preferred embodiment, the frame consists of two flat irons arranged vertically one above the other and connected with rubber buffers. The bearing surface part is connected to a pendulum which is passed through an opening in the lower flat iron and is attached at its other end to the upper flat iron. The pendulum attached to the foot part is attached to the lower flat iron with its other end through an opening in the upper flat iron.

An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that a plurality of concentric frames are provided which are connected to one another by the rope pendulums arranged in series. The frames are advantageously aligned one above the other. The frames expediently have openings through which the pendulums are guided to the opposite side of the frame. According to an advantageous embodiment, the frames are connected to one another by spring elements, preferably by flexible rubber buffers. Depending on the field of application, the frames can be triangular, quadrangular or even polygonal, the pendulum connections preferably being provided in the area of the corners. The frames can advantageously be box-shaped with closed side walls.

A preferred embodiment is characterized in that a plurality of frames of the same design but different cross-sections are provided, and that in the case of adjacent frames the larger frame has webs to which one end of a pendulum is fastened, which is connected to its other end is set to the next smaller frame. Preferably, the pendulum attached to the bearing surface part engages the largest frame, while the pendulum attached to the foot part is connected to the smallest frame.

In special embodiments, stop elements, preferably ball bearings, are arranged between the parts which are movable relative to one another in order to limit their deflection.

An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the frame parts with the pendulums connecting them are accommodated in a housing fastened to the foot part or bearing surface part and that the foot part runs through the housing in the center, a distance being provided between the foot part and the housing, the vibrations between the Bearing surface part with housing on the one hand and the foot part on the other allowed.

In a preferred embodiment, the connection is bsw. a backrest is attached to the frame. The backrest is expediently connected to a lower support element of the connection or the frame via a spring element.

The seating furniture 10 shown in FIG. 1 consists of an upper bearing surface part 12 which is suspended on a lower foot part 18 by means of a supporting element 14 extending from it and extending downwards via pendulum 16. The support element 14 can either be frame-shaped or box-shaped or can consist of several support arms. At each suspension point, two rope pendulums 16, which have approximately the same pendulum length, are functionally connected in series. The bearing points of the bearing surface part 12 and the pendulum ends opposite the foot part 18 are rigidly connected to one another via a frame 20, the height of which corresponds to the pendulum length. The rope pendulum 16 attached to the bearing surface part 12 is suspended from the top of the frame 20 while the rope pendulum 16 attached to the foot part 18 is attached to the underside of the frame 20. The pendulums 16 are guided through openings in the frame 20 to the opposite side of the frame.

As protection, the frame parts with the pendulums 16 connecting them can be accommodated in a housing fastened to the foot part 18 or bearing surface part 12. The foot part 18 runs through the housing in the middle, a distance being provided between the foot part 18 and the housing, which allows vibrations between the bearing surface part 12 with the housing on the one hand and the foot part 18 on the other hand.

The suspension device shown is compared to suspension devices of a conventional type due to a significantly improved vibration behavior with a compact design featured. It enables a high degree of dynamization even with the finest vibrations, while at the same time having good stabilization and damping properties against large deflections.

An additional improvement in the vibration behavior can be achieved in that a plurality of concentric frames 20 is provided, which are connected to one another by series-connected rope pendulums 16. A correspondingly designed suspension device according to the invention is shown schematically in FIG. 2 for an example of seating furniture 10. The connection between the support element 14 of the bearing surface part 12 and the foot part 18 takes place via three frames 20 of different cross-section, which are arranged concentrically one inside the other. In the case of adjacent frames 20, the smaller frame 20 has webs 22, to which one end of a cable pendulum 16 is attached. These webs 22 are guided over the next larger frame 20 in such a way that the cable pendulum 16 is fixed at its other end to the underside of the next larger frame 20. The pendulum 16 attached to the bearing surface part 12 engages the top of the largest frame 20, which is not provided with a corresponding web 22. The pendulum 16 attached to the foot part 18 is connected to the smallest frame 20. The pendulums 16 are guided through openings in the frame 20 to the respective suspension points. A top view of this frame arrangement according to the invention is shown in FIG. 3 for clarification.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the frame 20 consists of two flat irons 20a, 20b arranged vertically one above the other, which are connected to one another via rubber buffers 24. The cable pendulum 16 fastened to the bearing surface part 12 is guided through an opening in the lower flat iron 20a and suspended with its upper end on the upper flat iron 20b. At the foot part 18 attached pendulum 16 is fixed by an opening in the upper flat iron 20a with its other end on the lower flat iron. Stop elements 26 are arranged between the parts movable relative to one another in order to limit their relative movement. The stop elements 26 arranged between the upper flat iron 20b and the foot part 18 as well as the lower flat iron 20a and the bearing surface part 12 consist of supported balls in order to also enable lateral movement.

In contrast to the previously shown exemplary embodiments, in which the backrest 28 of the seating furniture 10 was connected in one piece to the bearing surface part 12, the backrest 28 in the exemplary embodiment shown is connected via a spring element 30 to the lower support element 20a of the frame 20, which is made of a flat iron. In comparison to conventional seating furniture, this enables the backrest 28 to oscillate essentially decoupled from the vibrations of the bearing surface part 12. This allows an additional improvement in the vibration behavior of the seating furniture to be achieved. The connection of the backrest 28 according to the invention via a spring element 30 to the lower support element 20a of the frame 20 is shown schematically in FIG. 5 in a top view.

The operation of the suspension device according to the invention was exemplified in the above examples using a piece of seating. However, it can advantageously e.g. can also be used to store highly sensitive machines or equipment.
