Description
The present invention relates to an arrangement for holding and angular positioning of several fuel injectors on an internal combustion engine, each injector being connected by one of its ends to a fuel supply pipe and by its other end to an intake manifold of a cylinder of the engine, each injector being fixed by means of a holding bar which comprises means for ensuring its fixing on the engine and in which are formed openings in each of which is received a portion of complementary profile of the external wall of the body of an injector.
The invention relates more particularly to an arrangement comprising several fuel injectors which ensures correct positioning and maintenance of the injectors on the engine.
The document GB-A-2,138,887 describes and represents an arrangement of the type mentioned above, but in which the precise angular orientation of the injectors is not reliably ensured during assembly.
In order to remedy this drawback, the invention provides an arrangement, characterized in that the internal wall of each opening comprises at least one flat part which cooperates with a corresponding flat formed in said portion of the external wall of the body of the injector and which extends parallel to the axis of the injector to angularly orient the latter relative to the engine.
Selon d'autres caractéristiques de l'invention :
- chaque ouverture débouche transversalement pour permettre l'introduction transversale de ladite portion de la paroi externe du corps de l'injecteur dans l'ouverture ;
- chaque ouverture est délimitée latéralement par deux parties planes parallèles et opposées de sa paroi interne qui coopèrent respectivement avec deux méplats parallèles et opposés formés dans ladite portion de la paroi externe du corps de l'injecteur ;
- chaque ouverture comporte des moyens de coopération par friction avec la portion de la paroi externe du corps de l'injecteur ;
- les moyens de coopération par friction sont constitués par des moyens de serrage élastique de la portion de paroi dans son ouverture ;
- l'ouverture peut présenter une section légèrement inférieure à celle de la portion de la paroi externe du corps de l'injecteur ;
- each opening opens transversely to allow the transverse introduction of said portion of the external wall of the body of the injector into the opening;
- each opening is delimited laterally by two parallel and opposite flat parts of its wall internal which cooperate respectively with two parallel and opposite flats formed in said portion of the external wall of the body of the injector;
- each opening comprises means of cooperation by friction with the portion of the external wall of the body of the injector;
- the friction cooperation means are constituted by elastic clamping means of the wall portion in its opening;
- the opening may have a section slightly smaller than that of the portion of the external wall of the body of the injector;
- the means for fixing the bar to the engine comprise two laterally spaced fixing lugs which are fixed to the engine; and

In the modern injection device using injectors of the "twin-jet" type, to obtain maximum efficiency of this type of injector, it is necessary that their angular position around their general axis be determined with precision so that the point of impact of each of the two jets on each of the cylinder intake valves is precisely oriented.
L'agencement selon l'invention permet également d'assurer cette fonction de positionnement angulaire.The arrangement according to the invention also makes it possible to ensure this angular positioning function.
For this purpose, the arrangement is characterized in that the internal wall of each opening comprises at least one flat part which cooperates with a corresponding flat formed in the position of the wall. external to the injector body and which extends parallel to the axis of the latter.
The opening can open transversely to allow the transverse introduction of the portion of the external wall of the body of the injector into the opening, the latter being able to be delimited laterally by two parallel and opposite flat parts of its internal wall which cooperate respectively with two parallel and opposite flats formed in the portion of the external wall of the body of the injector.

In the embodiment shown in the figures, the
In the embodiment shown in the figures, the
