Abstract

The microwave oven design is intended to prevent strong reflection of hf energy from the housing of its heater towards the hf generator in case of mismatch of useful hf power and the oven demand. Inside an oven housing is incorporated a baking chamber, into which the microwaves are propagated from a hf generator. For this purpose a waveguide (3) is used to which an aerial (6) is coupled. In the region of this aerial a matching element (10) is fitted in the waveguide. This element is preferably U-shaped and has a central bore for the passage of the aerial. The shanks of the U-shaped element are each fitted at its free ends with a lug, pointing away from the aerial. Der Eingangswiderstand des Hohlraumresonators in der Koppelöffnung muß mit dem Wellenwiderstand der Leitung übereinstimmen oder aber durch ein Transformationsglied an den Wellenwiderstand angepaßt werden.
