Abstract
The method involves determining a parameter indicative of ambient humidity outside of a vehicle based on a humidity sensor. A desired cylinder valve condition of the vehicle engine (10) is varied based on the parameter indicative of ambient humidity. A control signal is adjusted to adjust a cylinder valve based on the desired cylinder valve condition. A degradation of the sensor is determined based on the signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an article of manufacture having a computer readable storage medium with a computer program for adjusting engine operation of a vehicle having a humidity sensor (B) a system for adjusting engine operation of a vehicle.
