Abstract
The said industrial design consists of the features of shape, configuration and ornamentation of the internal-combustion engine as shown in solid lines in the drawings; the most novel and distinctive features of the design are the control panel and the recoil starter; the recoil starter has an annular member, a starter grip, and a front cover portion; the annular member has a generally cylindrical portion and a rounded front shoulder portion; the generally cylindrical portion of the annular member has a plurality of spaced-apart rows of aligned circumferentially-extending slots; the slots in each row are generally identical and are parallel, each slot having parallel side edges and rounded ends; the annular member has identical equally spaced-apart and generally triangular tab portions which extend outwardly from the rear edge of the annular member; each tab portion has a rounded apex; the annular member has a projection extending outwardly therefrom adjacent the rounded front shoulder portion, the starter grip being situated at the end of the projection; the front cover portion has a plurality of rows of closely spaced-apart small hexagonal openings covering most of the surface of the front cover portion to form a generally honeycomb-like appearance; the control panel has a central body section, a right end section and a left end section; the central body section has a flat front surface with a concave lower edge which conforms to the surface of the annular member of the recoil starter and a top surface extending rearwards generally at right angles to the front surface; the right end of the central body section merges into the upper portion of the right end section of the control panel and the left end of the central body section merges into the left end section of the control panel; the upper portion of the right end section has a flat front surface and an outer surface which extends rearwards generally at right angles to the front surface; the outer surface has a top portion, an angled right comer portion, and a right end portion, there being smooth rounded corners between the top, angled and right end portions of the outer surface; the front surface has a central arched depression with a bottom wall and side walls extending generally at right angles between the front surface and the bottom wall of the central arched depression; an engine switch is situated within the arched depression; the right end section has a downwardly extending lower portion having a front surface and a rearwardly extending peripheral edge which merges into the outer surface of the upper portion; the left end section has a sloped upper surface which extends upwards and to the right to merge with the top surface of the central body section.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a front view of the design for an internal-combustion engine;Fig. 2 is a rear view thereof;Fig. 3 is a top view thereof;Fig. 4 is a bottom view thereof;Fig. 5 is a right side view thereof;Fig. 6 is a left side view thereof;Fig. 7 is a right front perspective view thereof; andFig. 8 is a left rear perspective view thereof.Diagrams of the design are included.
