Abstract

Security document comprising substrate means (1) and at least one electronic security means (6), wherein the security document also comprises at least two contact points each electrically connected to said electronic security means (6), but electrically isolated from each other. The security document can be manufactured by providing said contact points and said electronic security means (6) on said substrate means (1). It is particularly useful for checking its authenticity, wherein said contact points are electrically connected to each other by connecting the surfaces of said contact points via an electrically conductive material and a status change of said electronic security means is observed.
